Child Safety Standards

GraceMeet is a service for adults seeking marriage. It is not, and will never be, a place for children. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we keep minors off the service, and how anyone can report a concern to us.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form, absolutely and without exception. This includes any sexualised content involving a minor, any attempt to solicit or groom a minor, and any use of GraceMeet to make contact with a minor. There is no warning and no second chance: accounts are removed and reports are escalated to the appropriate authorities.
GraceMeet is strictly 18+
Membership is limited to adults aged 18 or over. We take the following steps to keep it that way:
- Date of birth at sign-up. Every member must provide their birth month and year before a profile can be created. Anyone under 18 is refused.
- An enforced minimum age. Our matching system will not consider anyone under 18 under any circumstances. This is applied in the database itself, not only in the interface.
- Identity verification. Members are asked to verify themselves with a live selfie check, which is reviewed before a verified badge is granted.
- Declared minors are blocked. Where a platform tells us an account holder has declared themselves to be under 18, that person is denied access.
Reporting a concern
Every profile in GraceMeet carries a Report option. Choosing it opens a short private form, and one of the reasons offered is "Appears to be a minor". Reports go directly to our review queue and are not visible to the person reported.
You do not need an account to raise a concern. Anyone — a member, a parent, a parish, or a member of the public — can contact us directly using the details below.
What we do when a report is made
- We look at it promptly. Reports naming a suspected minor are treated as the highest priority and are reviewed ahead of everything else.
- We suspend first where there is any doubt. An account suspected of belonging to a minor, or of targeting one, is suspended while we review. We would far rather suspend an adult in error and apologise than leave a child exposed.
- We preserve evidence. Account data, messages and images relevant to a report are retained rather than deleted, so that they remain available to law enforcement.
- We remove and report. Confirmed CSAE results in permanent removal of the account, and we report to the relevant authorities in the United Kingdom, including the National Crime Agency's CEOP command and the Internet Watch Foundation where appropriate.
How the service is designed to reduce risk
- No open browsing. There is no searchable directory of members and no feed to scroll. Nobody can go looking for a particular person.
- No unsolicited contact. A conversation can only open when two people have each independently said yes to a match we proposed. Nobody can message a stranger.
- A small, curated service. Matches are proposed a few at a time, to adults who have stated they are seeking marriage.
Our obligations
We comply with applicable United Kingdom law on child protection and on the reporting of child sexual abuse material, and with the child safety requirements of the app stores through which GraceMeet is distributed. Where the law requires us to preserve or disclose information to law enforcement, we will do so.
These standards are reviewed at least annually, and whenever the service changes in a way that affects them.
